This USA made 7247 / 12DW7 tube is an unused surplus stock, new-old-stock (NOS) preamp tube.
The 7247/12DW7 is a dissimilar double triode in the 9-pin miniature construction. It is especially suitable for applications requiring a high gain voltage amplifier and a cathodyne type phase-inverter. They are commonly used as phase splitter tubes. We use them as the phase splitter / LFO in the Texas Tone 12 combo amp.
