Best Amp I've Ever Heard
Beautiful and stiking in burgundy snakeskin and gold, the Texas Tone® 50 was dubbed "the best amp I ever heard" at a recent Dallas Intenational Guitar Festival by an enthusiastic guitar player. He and a half-dozen other guitarists signed their names to a card on the amp in agreement
Blend British and American tones as desired.
I've replaced the Bright channel with a Lead channel, with changes to the gain and frequency response to allow for more drive and less mud. It's designed for rock leads and pedals, and the British rock sound. The Vintage channel is pure American tweed tone.
For years, guitarists have used patch cables on their Bassman and JTM amplifiers to jumper their Normal and Bright input channels together. The Texas TONE® 50 provides a Split/Jump switch to jumper the Normal and Lead channels internally. Plug into the Normal High input, select Jump, and the two channels are internally combined. Jumpering the two channels adds both fullness and complexity to your tone, giving you a nice, fat tone that breaks up easily. Select the desired volume level of each channel and rock out! Your Tone Matters!
The TEXAS TONE® 50 is another 'inspired by' all-tube guitar amplifier, in this case inspired by the tweed Bassman, it's near-twin the JTM45, and the black-faced Pro, with some important changes.
The Presence control has been supplanted by a Voicing control that controls the drive and frequency response to the output section. This adds even more distortion, volume, and character to the amp's output. The output section is a refinement of those 1960s black panel amps, adding more bandwidth and more gain in the phase splitter.
The result is a loud, versatile combo amp with a two 12" high efficiency Eminence speakers - one American full range and one British bright - that can play clean or get great rock tone. As usual, the noise floor of the TEXAS TONE® 50 is quite low, designed for, and resulting in, reduced hum and hiss. The TEXAS TONE® 50 includes the features listed below:
